Fill Your World With Color and Magic at Crayola Experience Orlando

DSCN2363Enter a world of color and magic at Crayola Experience Orlando located inside the Florida Mall; where indoor shopping and fun under the sun collide.  Just past the Crayola store front ((where you can purchase the cutest Crayola Stuffies and other Crayola merchandise)) is the entrance to the Crayola Experience where you and your child can explore 26 different hands on attractions featuring your favorite Crayola colors!

Crayola Experience Orlando is one of Central Florida’s newest indoor attractions where you will find hours of fun for the entire family.   Attractions include but not limited to:

  • Be A Star: Kids can appear in their very own coloring page along with some of Crayola’s characters. Just like a real photobooth, making your own coloring page is as easy as pushing a button and posing. Say Macaroni & Cheese!

  • Color Magic: Color a dragon or fairy and watch it come to life!  Virtually control the character you just colored  as it responds to your direction.  See it play in a background of your choosing and don’t forget to take a selfie!
  • Rainbow Rain: It’s raining, it’s pouring, this rainbow is never boring! In this interactive experience you’ll magically catch melting digital wax with your body and hands!  Watch as your shadow shapes the brightly-colored droplets in this digital marvel that you control!
  • Melt and Mold: Wouldn’t it be cool to create a ring, shark, car or seahorse souvenir out of crayon wax?  Making one is simple at Melt & Mold!  Just load your favorite crayon color into the machine and watch your crayon melt into a Crayola Experience keepsake!
  • Drip Art: This is a new spin on a timeless classic!  Load a fresh crayon into the Drip Art machine and watch it melt and drip crayon wax onto your paper as it spins (you control the speed) to create a swirly-whirly masterpiece.
  • Meltdown: Welcome to an experience where you can take in the aroma of one of the world’s most recognizable scents. Use melted wax to paint in a whole new way! Choose from a variety of melted crayon colors to create wax art on paper.
  • Rockin Paper:  Bring your craft center stage in this multi-sensory experience that puts your art in the spotlight – literally! Watch as your personalized paper creation turns, bops and rocks to the music. It’s a new show every time!DSCN2425
  • Wrap it Up:  Cornflower, Atomic Tangerine, Purple Mountain’s Majesty, Shocking Pink…what’s your favorite Crayola color name?  At Wrap It Up!, you can personalize and print an authentic Crayola crayon label, wrap it around your crayon, and create your own unique Crayola crayon!  (cost: 1 token)

The Crayola Experience is fun for kids of all ages, just perfect for children ages 2-5.  The highlight of our visit was WRAP IT UP.  It was fun to come up with new names for classic colors we have grown to love.  I would like to see this exhibit offer guests the opportunity to design a unique color with an option to swirl colors and add glitter for an extra sparkle.  All in all I give Crayola Experience two cherries on top for being a great place to discover the magic, let your creativity run free, to color outside the lines, and to play, explore, and learn.DSCN2491

Medieval Times – A Royal Fare

If you are coming to Orlando, Florida on your travels you will definitely want to venture off the beaten path and discover the experiences that await you in Kissimmee.  Just off 192 ( a major road that leads straight to Disney) there is a castle, but not just any castle.  This is the home to Medieval Times!  Inside you will experience a live action dinner show that thrusts you back to when Kings ruled the land and being a Knight was the highest of honors.  You’ll get to feast on royal fair and watch as the Knights compete in a tournament fit for the King! Cheer on your designated Knight and see who fights to the finish to be named the winner of the tournament and defender of the King.

Upon arriving to the castle, we were encouraged to check in and receive our table arrangements.  My group was cheering for the Green Knight.  We received our crowns and were off to visit the Medieval Village.  My children enjoyed walking through the village and learning the bits of history from the Medieval period.  The artifacts that can be seen in this village are real and have many stories to share.  Learning the history of how the common folk lived and worked for the King was quite interesting.  In each room there is a towns person to answer any questions you may have.

Now on to the show!  The story line is of the knights and a king with an uninvited visit from the Northmen.  During the show you are served dinner from the Bill Of Fare while being entertained by the competitive games the Knight’s participate in, with hopes to win the attention of Princess Catalina.  The games of skill test each Knight and progress towards a battle- a jousts of sorts.  This show is a crowd pleaser with wood splintering everywhere and sparks flying during the choreographed combat. The food is amazing!  His Majesty’s Royal Feast includes: Tomato Bisque Soup, Garlic Bread, Oven Roasted Chicken, Sweet Buttered Corn, Herb-Roasted Potato, Pastry of the Castle, and Pepsi Products for drink.

The Chicken was succulent and the corn was sweet and very buttery!  There are no silverware, be advised everything is easily eaten with your fingers.  My 5 year old son was in heaven…there is nothing he loves more than food and eating with his hands.  If you prefer a vegetarian meal, the King has a special meal prepared for you.  The Kings Vegetarian Meal includes: Hummus, Warm Pita Bread, Carrot and Celery Sticks, 3 Bean Stew with Fire Roasted Tomato and Brown Rice, Fresh Fruit, and Pepsi Products for drink.

The show is very interactive.  The crowd cheers for their assigned Knight and all allies, while they boo the opponents.  There is lots of  banner waving and feet stomping fun.  The winning Knights receive flowers to share with the maidens in the audience and a special crowning by the winning Knight (someone in the audience) takes place at the end of the show.

My family really enjoyed the dinner and show at Medieval Times and we can not wait to visit again.  It is a great experience for kids of all ages and makes for a super fun family night!  The dinner and show has made Medieval Times the best in Central Florida since 1983!  I highly recommend this dinner show for visitors and our Florida Natives.  There is a world of adventure waiting for you to experience.

I received a complimentary dinner experience at Medieval Times in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are my own from my own experience.  Thank you to Medieval Times for the fun and the memories!
