As Rapunzel looked out over the forest from her tower, she gazed her eyes on a beautiful garden hugging the edge of a nearby stream. She longed to be free of the prison she had called home for nearly 18 years. She would often day dream of dancing through the meadow with the butterflies and breathing in the sweet aromas of the peonies and sunflowers. Punzie was left languished, her only escape was expressed through the beautious art her soul created. Most days she would lose herself as she covered the inner rock walls of the tower with images that bespoke of her deepest desires. The day arrived when she had run out of wall canvas. “When will my life begin?” Punzie wondered. As she brushed her long golden hair, she looked out toward the glorious garden, sparkling in the setting sun. The warmth of the golden sunflowers filled her heart with an abundance of joy. Rapunzel grew intriguingly fascinated by the rich hues and tranquil design of the wildflowers. Pascal, Rapunzel’s pet chameleon and dearest friend, looked upon her with great admiration and a look of surprise in his little eyes. His brain was stirring. Pascal quickly scurried down the side of the tower and gathered as many flowers as he could carry. Pascal left the bushel on the ledge of the window, where Punzie had fallen into deep slumber while singing the enchanting “Flower Song.” When she awoke she was filled with awe and splendor as she embraced the bushel composed of daisies, sunflowers, and posies and breathed in the ambrosial odors. She gathered bits of raffia and twig that had been carried in the tower by the wind and intertwined the flowers together. As each piece became entangled with another they began to gleam and glow with immense power. When Rapunzel completed her masterpiece she looked at it and said, “Oh, that’s nice!” and she placed it on her head. She glowed like the beautiful princess that she was born to be.
