So of course you need to dress up in the spookiest Minnie Ears that ever did bewitch the Kingdom!
Well, BOO to YOU! Here is this season’s most spine tingling (yet super cute) Minnie Ears from some of my favorite small shops on ETSY.
1. 3-D Spooky Web Minnie Ears from Space Travelears ($35.00): Get tangled up in the most magical spider webs ever spun. Designed with a flexible headband these ears are perfect for adults and children. Made with a filament on a 3-D printer the ears are light weight and incredibly sturdy. They will not bend! Toss them in your park bag or bump them when getting in or out of the car (like me…I do this all the time!) and the ear maintains its shape. Other designs available on Etsy. Stay tuned for a future post featuring The VHS and The Movies Minnie ears from Space Travelears.
2. Candy Pumpkin Ears from Shiny Sky Rainbows: Decadent and oh so sweet, these ears are the perfect treat! Made with purple and green satin ribbon swirled like a lollipop and topped off with two little pumpkins. Next shop opening: 10/21/2017
3. Halloween Mouse Ears from Pop Creative Designs ($18): These ears add a touch of pizazz to any Candy Witch Costume. Made with black and silver metallic spiderweb fabric and adorned with a sparkly orange bow. The ears are filled with polyfil for that soft yet firm Minnie ear shape.
4. Haunted Mansion Inspired Ears from Girl Power Creations: You may be a foolish mortal, but you will feel like lucky number one thousand. Because there is always room for one more! These ears are crafted with black and grey damask fabric; trimmed with black beads and finished with a ghostly green satin laced bow.

Beauty in the Beast is Disney’s most timeless love story. After all, who could ever love a Beast?! Belle did, she couldn’t resist his charm. Under all that scuff was an endearing prince and Beast, he was overturned by Belle’s beauty and gentleness. Their love story is truly a Tale as Old as Time and is what makes this Disney animation a family favorite. If your family is anything like mine, dressing up as characters from your favorite Disney movie is the thing to do, especially when hitting the parks for a day of fun or a night of not so scary spooktaculars!
Dress your little prince in this dapper Beast suit from Girly Princess Shop. The Beast suit features a button down the back ruffled shirt blouse with ruffled sleeves that play peek a boo under the jacket sleeves, yellow vest, blue suit jacket, and pants. The vest and suit jacket are complete with embossed gold buttons for that pristine finished dapper look that Disney style is all about. Made from a polyester material that provides a cool and comfortable wear around the parks. A perfect replica of Beast’s suit that was worn on the night he and Belle fell in love.
Is Beast in need of a Princess Belle? Girly Princess Shop offers a beautiful gold Belle dress that is perfect for a sibling pair. Also available: Cinderella dress, Prince Charming Suit, Snow White, and more! All costumes are ready to ship within 3-5 days, just in time for Halloween! You will be impressed by the quality of this suit costume. **DISNEY PARK TIP** If you are looking for an extra magical experience, dress your son in this Beast suit on the day you go to Magic Kingdom. Stop in for Enchanted Story Time with Belle. Cast members may just pick your child to be the Beast in the live telling of the story. At the end of the story, Beast dances with Belle and will have an opportunity for some awesome photo captures!
Take me to the day when Belle and Beast fell in love~
Second star to the right and straight on til morning. Before you know it you are in Neverland soaring above the clouds with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell and fighting pirates like that old codfish Captain Hook. Oh, what fun imagination can be! Halloween is a great time for families to dress up and take on a whole new character. This is the time of year in which my children dress up in a different costume every weekend as they enjoy the season’s greatest festivities. One of our themes this year was The Neverland Crew in which my son played the part as Tootles (Skunk) the Lostboy.
In the animated film: Peter Pan, Tootles wears a skunk costume. Our version replicates the ensemble with denim overalls, a black shirt (with white felt along the belly and a white stripe along the back,) an adorable skunk tail, and a Davy Crockett style skunk cap. The overalls and black shirt came straight out of my boy’s closet. I purchased the white felt from a craft store. Using fabric glue I glued a round patch for the belly and a stripe along the back. The skunk tail is from Sweet 16 in Stitches and is made with felt and stuffed with a polyester filling for the perfect finished look. It easily attaches to any material with a silver clip. Also available from Sweet 16 in Stitches: fox tail, racoon tail, and a cow tail! Tails that are perfect for pretend play and the creation of a new Lostboy costume. The skunk cap is made of acrylic and is very soft to the touch. My son enjoyed wearing this cap at the parks, even in the sunny Florida weather. It is absolutely prefect hat for outdoor activities and is compliments of Crooket Coon Caps. Other styles: coon cap, fox cap, and a Alaskan wolf cap are available on their Etsy shop. Complete this look with black freckles and a pinch of pixie dust!
Tootles may have lost his marbles, but he still has his adventurous charm and this costume represents it well. Complete with skunk cap and tail this Lostboy is ready to jump in line for following the leader at the sound of Pan’s crow and so will yours!
I know, I know I am a lil late in posting my Dr. Seuss Day Costume Ideas…but if you had any idea how busy I was with finals you would totally forgive me. My children needed last minute costumes for Dr. Seuss Day at their school. Like, they told me about dressing up two days before. I had no time to go store hopping for pieces, so I used what we had lying around the house. I had taken pictures of my step by step procedure, but my iPhone went on the fritz and I lost all my pics. I am sorry that I keep disappointing you my friends. Here is the finished look:
On right: My kids in costumes we put together. On left: My son and his friend at school.
For Thing 1: Red pajama bottoms, a Red polo, white tshirt paint, piece of cardboard, wide mouth mason jar ring, white hat, white finger paint, blue finger paint, black sharpie, and a cute lil boy. Step 1: Place the small piece of cardboard or the top of a shoebox inside the red shirt. Using the wide mouth mason jar ring trace the inner side with white tshirt paint and fill in circle. (let dry overnight) Step 2: Using a sharpie write THING 1 or THING 2 in center of the white circle. Step 3: Mix the white and blue finger paint to make the perfect blue. Paint the white hat and let it dry overnight. Step 4: Put it all together! Cindy Lou was a lot easier! For Cindy Lou: striped pajama bottoms, pettiskirt, cute top, small foam cup, big bow, pony tail holder, lots of hairspray, and a pretty girl. Step 1: Get dressed! leave the hair for last. Step 2: Gather all of the hair in the highest pony tail you can do. Step 3: Split the pony into two parts and place the foam cup in between the parts. Step 4: Gather the parts together and cover the foam cup. Using the elastic pony tail holder tie off the top. Step 5: Spray like crazy! Don’t hold back on the hairspray. You are going to need half a bottle to keep this baby up! Step 6: Add the bow. Viola! Your adorable daughter has been transformed into Cindy Lou!
Now that it is all said and done
your kids will have nothing but fun!
If you haven’t already carved your Halloween pumpkin this tip will be a time saver! I tried this lil trick this evenin’ when my chicklins and I carved our Halloween pumpkins. It is so super easy that you will wonder why you never thought of it! Normally we line our table with newspaper and clean out the guts of the pumpkin while making this huge mess that we are stuck cleaning up afterwards. This year I thought why not do the guttin and carvin over a trash bag?! So I spread open two large (yard rubbish size) trash bags on the table leavin a rounded area in the middle of the bag, in which to set each pumpkin in. This acted as our workin area. We cut the top off of the pumpkin and gutted the pumpkin right inside the trash bag.
When we were done carving out the pumpkin, we closed up the bag and there was nothing left to clean up. This was the fastest Pumpkin guttin clean up ever known to man! And the kids enjoyed the extra time to be ghoulishly cute and to enjoy their Jack O’ Lanterns!
My children and I enjoyed a wonderful evening at our church, where we played games, listened to Christian music, and had a lot of fun while winning some super yummy candy and other prizes. It is blessing to have a church that gives back to the community in so many ways and lives through sharing the word of our wonderful savior. Halloween is a good time to come together as a family and share the gospel and the love of Jesus. We do not have to worry about the scary things for our Lord protects us. He is our shield and our defender.
