It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas!

everywhere you go….well in my home at least!  I just love the scents of Christmas! There is just something about the smell of fresh pine and candy cane that make me feel warm and joyful during the season of holidays.  So when I received my complimentary box of Happy Holiday’s candles from Old Factory I couldn’t wait to light them up.

There are three scents that are included in the Happy Holiday’s collection: Christmas Tree, Candy Cane, and Gingerbread.  Old Factory candle’s are made in the USA and are made of natural soy wax.  These 2 oz candles are available in several different scents including leather, sea breeze, and rose.  What I really like about Old Factory candles is the scent.  These candles are not wimpy, they are packed with the most amazing smell this olfactory has ever inhaled.

The Christmas tree scent is by far my favorite and the aromas fill my apartment in a matter of minutes.  The 2 oz candle is expected to burn for over 20 hours.  That is a lot of nose satisfaction going on!

The Legend of the Candy Cane- a book review

The candy cane is more than just a sweet, minty treat we enjoy at Christmas.  There is great symbolism that reminds us of God’s sacrificial love.  The story of the candy cane is retold by Lori Walburg in her latest board book entitled, “The Legend of the Candy Cane.”   It all begins in a candy shop in a small town.  When Lucy extends a helping hand to the new stranger in town, she discovers the hidden truth of her favorite Christmas candy.  Make this a traditional reading  and share the secret and miracle of Christmas this holiday season and for many Christmases to come!

Share the Legend of the Candy Cane this Christmas.  Print out this tag and attach to candy canes with a red and white ribbon.  Pass them out to everyone you meet.

This is a perfect activity to do in Sunday School or at home with your children.

I found the tag on one of my google searches.  I do not know where it originated from.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from booklook bloggers and the review is of my own honest opinion.

Candy Cane yummy tummy fun.

Do you still have Candy Cane’s lying around the house?  Try this super easy, kid friendly food craft with the kids.

Tips:

Use a toaster oven and set to 250, soften chocolate and spread using back of spoon, add sprinkles, and let cool for 30 minutes to an hour before wrapping individually.  My first batch didn’t come out very well because I had the oven set to 450 and the candy cane started to melt.  My last two batches I set oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and it worked great.  The chocolate softened within minutes.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you “Be of good cheer”!

I love this time of year!  Even in the warm Florida winter.  It is most beautiful!  I enjoy the time I get to spend with my children and the fun crafts and activities that we do together.  I really enjoy making things for our friends and family.  As you have read my love language is gifts and so I tend to speak using my love language during this time of year.  I just love gift giving and seeing the joy on the recipients face.  Well this month my children and I are making lots of fun crafts to give on Christmas day to our family.  I will be sharing many of them with you over the next few days.

A few months ago Target had these red melamine solo cups in the dollar section. I wasn’t certain what I could do with them, but I couldn’t help myself from buying the remaining inventory.  So we came home with 25 melamine solo cups and they just sat there.  Then one day while I was watching Ant Farm with my daughter on Netflix it dawned on me that they would make the cutest Santa cups!  My daughter Allison is the artist in our family.  So I asked her what she thought of this awesome idea.  And she said “Cool!”  So here we have it our Santa Cups!  We filled them up with candy cane mints.  They are super uber cute!!!  Dont’cha think?!

You can even make these with the plastic red solo cups.  We have a few left so we were thinking of painting a few with just Santa’s belt and gold buckle.  They are so fun to make and make a sweet handmade gift from the munchkins.
