The Plans I Have For You- a book review

plansLove this book!  This story is written as if God is speaking directly to your child.  Throughout the story your child is reminded that they were born with a purpose and a very important job to do.  The fun part is discovering God’s special plans for you.   My children enjoyed the illustrations and identifying the many different things they can do when they are older.  This a great book for children ages 4-8and is filled with lyrical fun.  This book is a great read for moms and dads as well, as it acts as a reminder of how personal and special God’s recipe for our lives truly is.

Jeremiah 29:11. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

God Bless Our Fall- A book review

blessourfallThis adorable board book is written by Hannah C. Hall and illustrated by Steve Whitlow.  Hall uses rhythmic play on words to remind little readers to give thanks to the Lord for all he blesses us with.

The trees are dressed in gold and red. Their colors seem to call, “God decorates what he creates!” We say,  God bless our fall!”  (Hall, 2015)

The adorable characters that are brought to life through Whitlow’s delicate art work share how the season changes from summer to fall.  From the changing of the leaves, the chill in the air, pumpkins, cozy fires, and hayrides we are introduced to the new season.  In my family Autumn is full of traditions and family togetherness and like the fox family (in the book) we enjoy cuddling up and staying cozy close.

Only God Can Make a Kitten- a book review

only godThis is one of the sweetest children’s books my children and I have read together.   As your child reads the rhyming text and enjoys the softly drawn images he/she will discover who the one and true creator  is.  The story is written by Rhonda Gowler Greene and illustrated by Laura J Bryant.  A mother and her children are enjoying a day of exploration in the great outdoors.  Her children are climbing on rocks, swimming in the sea, and discovering God’s creation with every step of the way.

There is lots of fun word play through out the text, ” “Mama, look! A tiny sprout! Who made this sprig of spring pop out? He who knows our every need. Only God can make a seed.” (Greene, 2015) Only God Can Make a Kitten will become a treasured family favorite and shares the truth about our world and her creator.
