We are living in an age when man is rewriting our history and removing God from all that we know. This is a problem and it is happening now. As a parent I see it more and more in the public school system. My daughter is in a constant battle. Day after day she is standing up for her beliefs and the truth –GOD’s word and she is going against what is being forced on her–Man’s word. In Six days by Ken Ham the battle of Man’s word VS God’s word is made even more evident. Currently, my nephew is studying evolutionism in his 6th grade science class. He is a firm believer in Genesis and GOD’s creation. The first 11 chapters of Genesis is real to him, not just a story. His teacher is a firm believer in the BIG Bang theory and has tried to force this theory onto him. He was told that he would learn it and believe it or he would not pass the class. But because of his firm beliefs as a Christian, in the word of God not man’s word, and he has been taught apologetics by his parents he was able to remain protected behind the shield of God’s word. Even on the test when it asked how the world was made, he marked the answer to be Created by GOD, but because it was not what was taught in class he got it wrong. He said it didn’t matter he did what was right. He didn’t lose faith in God’s word.
In Six Days we understand that our starting point is the Bible, it is God’s word. How can we call ourselves Christians but stand behind Mans word? Do not conform to this New America that television, schools, and our government is trying to sell us. Ken Ham sheds light unto his readers that even some preachers are giving up the first 11 chapters of Genesis and starting to push the Big Bang Theory. Is it possible that the world was made over thousands of years? No, we know this not to be true, because God said he made the world in six days.
I really enjoyed reading Ham’s book. This book was written on current issues in the church, in our world. It sheds light on the darkness of what our world has become and it teaches us how to have faith in what we believe. To stand firm in the truth of God’s word and how to prepare for the battle that is to come. Do not drop the shield of God’s word for then we are vulnerable to the fallible word of man.
I received my copy of Ken Ham’s book, Six Days from Master Books a division of New Leaf Publishing Group.
